July 7, 2022

In support of the expansion of Four Winds South Bend, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi's Four Winds Casinos has announced the creation of a new recruitment center in South Bend. The center will process applications, hold interviews, and hire individuals seeking to fill unfilled positions in the casino.

The Erskine Plaza recruitment facility can be found at 1290 East Ireland Road, Suite D. It will be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday. There is no need to make an appointment to come in and fill out applications. Every Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. EST, the recruitment center will hold "walk-in Wednesdays" for on-the-spot hiring.

To date, the expansion of Four Winds South Bend has resulted in the creation of 350 construction jobs, of which 10% have been reserved for Native American preference. Once construction at the casino resort is finally finished in the first quarter of 2023, it is anticipated that an additional 350 to 400 new jobs will be created there.

According to local ABC57, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Four Winds Casinos Darcy Davis said, "We are very excited to begin receiving applicants for positions to support the expansion of Four Winds South Bend.”

“We have a variety of part-time and full-time positions available to support our operations, including our expanded gaming floor, which will open later this year and our hotel, spa, conference and event space, which will open early 2023. Both part-time and full-time positions offer benefit packages, and some positions are eligible for a $500 sign on bonus," he added.

There are many different jobs available, such as barbacks, bartenders, beverage servers, cashiers services representatives, cooks, dishwashers, food attendants, food servers, kitchen utility, casino housekeepers, table games dealers, maintenance engineers, valets, slot floor, gaming technicians, security, and surveillance operators.

The applicants can visit the employment area of the Four Winds website for more information on the positions that are now open to the public.

About Four Winds Casinos

The Four Winds Casinos are a group of casinos in the United States. They are in the states of Indiana and Michigan. The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians currently operates as the owner. The main property is in New Buffalo Township, Michigan, and there are also properties in Hartford, Dowagiac, and South Bend, Indiana.

As a recognized tribe by the federal government, the Pokagon Band was able to build Four Winds New Buffalo in New Buffalo Township on the Pokagon Reservation in 2007. It was possible because of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act and a compact with Michigan. Four Winds Hartford, a second satellite casino, opened on August 30, 2011, and Four Winds Dowagiac, a third, opened on April 30, 2013.

Pokagon Band could only have three casinos because of a deal it made with the state of Michigan in 2008. Since then, it has built a casino in South Bend, Indiana, on land it said could be used for gambling under certain parts of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

Back in 2012, the Pokagon Band said it wanted to build this 164-acre "tribal village" with housing, health care, government buildings, and a casino and hotel. On January 16, 2018, Four Winds South Bend opened.
